Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MPListing ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use mplisting.com. We process personal data in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

Information We Collect

  • Account information you provide when registering: name, email, phone number.
  • Business information you submit when listing or claiming a business.
  • Publicly available business information discovered from permitted public sources (official business websites, open datasets) -- see our Automated Business Discovery page for details on how this works and how to correct or remove it.
  • Payment information for paid plans, processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe) -- we do not store full card details ourselves.
  • Usage and device data such as pages viewed and searches made. When you view a business's profile page we record your IP address, approximate location (country, state and city), device type, operating system, browser and the website you came from. We use this to operate and improve the service, to detect abuse and automated traffic, and to give business owners statistics about visits to their own listing.
  • Cookies and analytics: we use essential cookies and Google Analytics – see our Cookie Policy.

How We Use Information

  • To operate business listings, search, claims, reviews and leads/quote requests.
  • To process subscription payments and communicate about your account.
  • To respond to correction, removal and support requests.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the platform.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with service providers necessary to operate MPListing (such as our payment processor, Stripe, and Google, which provides website analytics), or where required by law.

Owners of a business listing can see statistics about visits to their own listing: totals, trends and breakdowns by country, state, device, operating system, browser and referring website, and for recent visits a partially masked IP address. They do not receive visitors' names or contact details from these statistics.

Your Rights Under the PDPA

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. If your business was listed through our automated discovery process, you may request removal free of charge at any time via the "Request Removal" link on that business's page.

Data Retention

We retain account and business data for as long as your account or listing is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as required for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes. Profile-visit records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide visit statistics and to protect the platform. Google Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
